Chief Executive Officer, Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco), Guftar Anjum has said the company collected eight per cent less revenue as compared to last year. He was speaking at "Meet the Press" programme here at Hyderabad Press Club on Tuesday.CEO said the company will install ABC system on experimental basis, which will make power theft impossible. Besides, the company will install 100 more feeders with financial assistance of the World Bank. Guftar said that Hesco had written around 23 letters to Wapda administration from 2002 to 2006, warning about imminent acute electricity shortage in future, but no attention was paid, he complained.He said Hesco needs 1686-megawatt electricity while it was facing a shortage of 288-megawatt and load management schedule was being pursued to overcome the shortage up to six to eight hours a day. The CEO said that the consumers were being asked to use energy saver and avoid using air-conditioners, washing machines and iron between 5 pm to 10 pm.He said the Company signed agreements with two private companies to buy electricity of 5.3 megawatt while nine other agreements were in progress to meet the shortage of power. He said various packages were introduced to facilitate the consumers and power defaulters to pay their outstanding dues to the company.
