Adjusting to Mark Hurd's HP is tough for Dell. This article shows my take on why HP is doing the right things, observed by watching competitors. Also I think it's a mistake Dell stopped re-selling equipment from Cisco. They decided to get into the networking space on their own. Well they have, and their equipment does not outshine Cisco by any means - or the other competitors. They chose to focus on lower end network equipment and no Cisco. Which means the clients who want higher end network solutions have to go somewhere else. Why? That is just one tiny piece of the giant Dell structure. I just think pieces like this make a difference in the overall sucess of this giant.
