Siemens Profits Beyond Expectations [ Login to Propose An Edit ]





The after-tax profit of Siemens (Pakistan) Engineering Company Limited increased to Rs 531.276 million in the quarter ended on March 31, 2008 against Rs 460.556 million earned in the corresponding period of last year.

The company's earning per share surged to Rs 64.42 against Rs 55.84 in the same period a year back. The board of directors of the company in its meeting here recommended an interim cash dividend for the period at Rs 30 per share ie 300 percent.

According to the financial results, the company's net sales declined to Rs 7,574.723 million against Rs 5,790.471 million in the same period of last year. On the other hand, the cost of sales increased to Rs 6,643.503 million in this period against Rs 4,570.919 million.

The company earned Rs 52.350 million in commission and allowances in this quarter against Rs 84.068 million in the same account previously. The company's profit before tax stood at Rs 768.844 million against Rs 837.866 million in the same period last year.
